Aims

The games I enjoy most are the ones you have to figure out for yourself and so, with Thieves' Forest, the player knows next to nothing about the main character, the world, or its inhabitants. By exploring the world, the player learns more about it and the nature of the central mystery should, hopefully, be revealed.

Creating the game in Bitsy is a challenge of certain limitations. These limitations are not in my mind a limit to what a creator can do (that limit resides only within the range of their imaginations), rather they force you to be more creative with what you have.  For creating a game that is driven by narrative through exploration, Bitsy as a game editor excels in two departments - an easy to use interface for making worlds and sprite dialogue options that encourage devising interactions between sprites based on the principle of if this then that .

I have attached a few screenshots of the Bitsy workspace that I use and some gifs of completed rooms.
